INSPIRATION
A message from a friend:
Today Michael Cole Smith and Jamil Smith Cole spoke at The State Capital in St. Paul MN in support of Marriage Equality on behalf of OUTFRONT Minnesota.
Their [OUTFRONT MN] mission is "to make our state a place where GLBT Minnesotans have the freedom, power, and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives."
Today was about equality, acceptance and tolerance of all people and their right to make legal decisions that affect individuals and their families. We heard from people that are directly affected by this movement as well as clergymen and clergywomen who support marraige of ALL people.
I was truly inspired by all the stories that I heard today and I am very thankful that I was present in that room.
Michael and Jamil's story represents thousands of other individuals.
They hope that their journey can inspire other gay couples to have something to look forward to.... Marriage Equality in the state of Minnesota and across the country!
For more information about OUTFRONT MN and their mission, visit the official website at http://www.outfront.org/.
Peace and Blessings!!

THE CONTROVERSY:
Who would have thought all of this would come out of us showing our love for one another in what we thought was a private ceremony.

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SMITTY BOYZ BLOG!
(L to R) Michael Cole Smith & Jamil Smith Cole
Michael Cole Smith:
Hello world! This is Michael Cole Smith. For those of you who don't know me by now, I am "the groom with the detachable train." Oh...and the hair and the eyebrows. See, to the outsider looking in, that may seem like a bit much...but for me, it was quite appropriate. I mean, being that it WAS...OUR day...we should be able to do what we wanna do. Right?
Anyway, Jamil and I decided to create this blog as a way for us to share our story. A way to show the world who we really are, in our own way. We also wanted to be able to help all our haters, but more importantly our supporters, put a face or more or less a soul to the wedding pictures that the world (and I do mean the world) had been exposed to. Through this blog, we will hold nothing back. You will get the whole truth and nothing but the truth about the Smitty Boyz.
You will get to see that we are just like any other married couple. We experience the same type of problems, even more so with the age difference. (Oh, did I forget to mention that there is a 20 year difference between us? That Jamil's from the heart of Detroit and I’m from the bourgeois projects of the "Chi?" 41st and Prairie, Washington Park jecs to be exact. Hoodi hoo!) That alone is drama in its self, but don't get me wrong...we love each other to death! So...if found our pictures to be interesting, just wait to you get to know US...for who we are. Not as who you THINK we are. With that said, stay tuned and follow the Smitty Boyz AS the saga continues...
Jamil Smith Cole:
Whats crackin! I am the one and only Jamil Cole Smith.
I’m new to this blogging thing; however, we knew we had to do it for all of you to really get to know the true Jamil and Michael...Not just who you perceived us to be in some gossip blog or email chain. (Thanks to the fools who jacked us for the pics. )
We are real folks. Just like you and your husband, or wife, or partner, or whoever you wanna call them. We have problems, bills, bill collectors, mortgage, and car payments... just like yall. The only difference is how and who we go through all of that with.
Sometime we wanna kill each other, and sometime we cant get enough of each other....but hey, thats life.
Marriage (Did I say MARRIAGE? lol) is like the mob..."Til death do us part."
To be continued...
